Mụ̈ll [mittelniederdt. mul, mül = Staub, Schutt, Kehricht (ahd. mullen = zerreiben)], der; -s: aus Haushalten, Gewerbe u. Industrie stammende feste Abfallstoffe, wobei man Hausmüll, Siedlungsmüll, Sondermüll, Industriemüll unterscheiden kann. Die entspr. ihrer Zus. getrennten M.-Fraktionen werden deponiert, verbrannt, kompostiert oder wiederverwertet.
